Value for hydrogen

The Australian Hydrogen Council is

Accelerating the development of the hydrogen industry through policy advocacy, building networks and sharing information.

Collaborating with industry, governments, business associations, local and international partners and research institutions.

Aggregating evidence and perspectives to inform the right policy settings.

What we offer

  1. Advocacy

The AHC works with members in a number of ways. We convene a range of working groups on key policy and program areas being developed by Australian governments, ensuring industry voices are represented as well ensuring that proposed regulatory and legislative changes align with global expectations. We hold member-only Policy and Technical Committees three times a year and share policy information and consultation drafts for member comment.

We also represent the industry on advisory and working groups convened by Australian governments.

  1. Information Exchange

In-person member briefings are held quarterly, in different locations across Australia.

Members also receive exclusive briefings on key topics.

Each AHC member has access to AHC’s member portal, which hosts all key documents and videos and provides links to a range of events, current processes asking for expressions of interest, and consultative processes from a range of parties.

In addition, we currently host an annual Parliamentary Friends of Hydrogen meeting in Canberra, providing opportunities for members to directly speak to a range of parliamentarians and Ministers with an interest in future fuels.

Our fortnightly H2Go! Member newsletter highlights the range of meetings, delegations and consultations that AHC and members are engaged in.

  1. Business Development

Membership of the AHC is a critical element for business development.

In addition to the information exchange, the AHC works with project developers, investors and boards to understand and build the business cases for investment in Australian projects and technologies, providing introductions and connections to developers of projects and technologies across the emerging hydrogen and future fuels ecosystem.

  1. International Advocacy

The AHC is a member of the Global Hydrogen Industrial Association Alliance (GHIAA), a global association promoting the hydrogen economy. In addition, we currently have a range of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in place with hydrogen and future fuel associations globally:

The relationships AHC fosters with MoU organisations enables us to support member organisations seeking contacts, networks and relationships in partner countries, for investment and trade opportunities.
